About Us
About Us
3rd Washington Scouts (part of Houghton-Le-Spring Scout District) teaches skills for life for young people aged 4 to 18 in Washington, Tyne and Wear. With an active squirrel drey, busy beaver colony, thriving cub pack, adventurous scout troop and a brilliant explorer unit, the membership of the group is around 100 including our team of adult volunteers. The group is managed by an active trustee board who work behind the scenes to grow the adventure for members. Members of 3rd Washington are easily recognisable by huge grins and their yellow neckers.
Vision
Our vision is to have a positive impact on the young people of Washington by delivering a programme focused on outdoor and adventure with a new challenge every week.
Mission
The aim of the group is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
