Scouts: Worldwide Family of Scouting

posted 1 Oct 2010, 14:04 by Stephen Harrison   [ updated 21 Aug 2013, 14:55 ]
This week scouts had an international adventure as we welcomed an American Scout for the night.

Stephen is travelling Europe for 3 months with his Dad and we were lucky to have him stop by as they worked his way up through England. Stephen took part in our backwoods cooking activity with the Oxclose Section before heading over to St Andrew's to meet the other troop.

We presented Stephen with a 3rd Washington necker and badges to celebrate his visit and Stephen told us a bit about Scouting in America. Stephen explained that in America up to venture aged, boys and girls take part in scouting separately and that scouts earn a rank as they complete stages of scouting and achieve set goals.

We wish Stephen and his dad well on the rest of their European tour.
