River Wash - Matty and Jonathan
Jonathan Cooking on Fire
Clay pigeon shooting, backwoods and a river dip were the adventures of the day for a scorching Wednesday at Camp.

For most of the group clay pigeon shooting was a brand new activity and everyone would love to report that it's a piece of cake however it turns out there were only a few sharp shooters among us with Luke scoring the most of the Scouts (nine out of ten) and Jonathan scoring the most from the leader team (also nine out of ten). Everyone got better as the instructor helped them to improve their techniques and nearly everyone hit at least one clay.

While groups were out at the clays, the remaining patrols enjoyed the more traditional activity of backwoods cooking. Scouts spent the morning collecting wood and lighting fires before cooking cheese toasties in the afternoon. We had much more planned but in the baking sun, the river was far more appealing and we couldn't resist a splash and cool down.

The river certainly cooled us down and it also provided us with an opportunity to get washed. Matty probably took the most uncomfortable option here for having the soap washed from his hair.
