Matty Airbourne Mountain Biking
Today Scouts spent a half day mountain biking at Glentress Forest. The Forest is one of the premier mountain biking venues in Scotland and has purpose built routes to challenge everyone.

Scouts started in the skills loops and practiced some of the skills needed for a more extreme ride later. The skills park included drops, jumps, balance beams and rocks which challenged Scouts to get their body positioned well on the bike and to learn their limits. Some Scouts found their limits the hard way and we certainly had a few scrapes, but this didn't spoil the day.

Those who were feeling confident then took on the free ride area where the jumps got bigger and table tops and double jumps tested riders further.

Practice complete, we headed down the blue route, about 2 miles fast exciting tracks which included all of the elements we'd practiced linked by flowing berms. The blue downhill was undoubtedly the highlight of the day!
