Scouts Set Up Camp
Outdoor adventure and a twenty new friends were the highlights of last weekend where Scouts and leaders from 3rd Washington joined 1st Eppleton in camp at Dilston.

On the Friday night, Scouts worked very hard to set up camp, some of our more experienced Scouts taking the lead helping others to pitch their tents. Once the tents were pitched we played a wide game called smugglers where Scouts used all their speed, stealth and cunning to beat the opposing team.

Saturday saw the rain come down and while we kept going with morning activities of shooting and backwoods cooking, the weather was certainly unpleasant. After a lot of debate, we headed to Hexham Pool for the afternoon for a splash about instead of getting soaked on a walk.

Having watched the rain from in the pool and returned to a very wet campsite for tea we took the unusual decision to abandon and headed to Fatfield hut for a pizza and film night.

On Sunday a small group of volunteers were back up at Dilston taking downt the tents we left the night before. Big thanks to Luke, Thomas, Shane and Ryan for their help!

3rd Washington Scouts is one of the 6 Scout groups which form Houghton-Le-Spring District. The HLS district supports Scout Groups in Eppleton, Houghton, Herrington, Fatfield, North Washington and Washington Village as Explorer Units in the North and South of the area.
