This weekend, 41 Scouts from 3rd Washington joined 800 Scouts, Explorers and Leaders from around the County for Durham Scout County's massive Confido 2011. With 2 huge parties and loads of activities around Moor House, this was one awesome weekend.

In the Adrenaline Zone, Scouts experienced the exhilaration of Zorbing which involves being strapped inside an inflatable ball and rolling down a hill. Presumably Scouts can now empathise with how their clothes going through a spin cycle in the washing machine. Also on offer in the Adrenaline Zone was Offroad Karting, a Jacobs Ladder challenge, climbing and abseiling and the incredible Spider Mountain.

Scouts who wanted to live like Bear Grylls enjoyed the Extreme Survival Zone where they learned skills to keep them alive in the toughest conditions including rabbit skinning, fish gutting, shelter building and emergency survival.

Dino Karts at ConfidoThere was yet more fun to be had in the Adventure and Discovery zones as Scouts explored Laser Battlefield, Segway Racing, Crate Stacking, Dino Karts, the Toboggan Run and Mountain Boarding. There were plenty of opportunities for Scouts to show off their skills at Confido's Got Talent, taking part in craft workshops and clowning around at the circus skills base.

As is traditional at Confido, the fun goes on well into the darkness. On Friday night, Scouts enjoyed the first party with Karaoke and plenty of cheesy pop, you've never seen the Macarena done in such a way before. Saturday night saw Scouts dressing up 'cool' for the biggest party of the weekend.

It's been a fantastic weekend, which not even a little drizzel could spoil. We can't wait to do it all again next year!
