Scouts: Go with the FLOW

Last Friday, Scouts from St. Andrews checked out the new Flow Rider at Heworth Leisure Centre. After some sliding up the flow to get accustomed, Scouts were quickly onto the surfboard learning to ride the 30mph torrent of water.

We learned that the Flow Rider is one of only 3 in the UK and cost a quarter of a million pounds to install.

This Friday, we do it all again.

Watch our video to see if you agree....that Flow Rider is 'a canny good Friday night activity'!

As well as their normal weekly programme, 3rd Washington Scouts often go out to local places on Friday evenings just for fun! The group provide diversionary activities on Fridays and weekends to ensure young people have a positive focus.
