Scouts: Getting Our Skates On

3rd Washington Scouts spent the last troop Tuesday night of 2010 in a winter wonderland at the Centre for Life ice rink. We had a fantastic night of skating and because we had sole use of the rink it seemed a special way to end the scouting year.

Some scouts took to the ice like pros (perhaps not quite Torvill and Dean) while others seemed to spend more time on their bottoms than standing up, but by the end everyone was getting a lot more confident on their feet.

The night was also a special night as we said goodbye to Steph, Helen, Jack, Harry and Emily as they move on to the next stage of scouting. We wish them well for the future and no doubt we will see them again as young leaders supporting the Group. While it is sad to say goodbye to a group of young people who have been part of the Group for such a long time, we were also able to invest a new group of Scouts. Our new members will not forget their investiture in a hurry as they came forward on the ice to repeat their promises.

Next meeting is Tuesday 4th January as we celebrate a new year of Scouting. Download the Flyer.
