![]() Scouts have been putting on their flippers, mask and breathing aparatus and learning the basics of diving at The Diving Centre, Boldon with expert instruction from their team. The activity proved itself to be quite a challenge, as it takes some practice to be able to breathe under water, to feel confident below the surface and to be able to lower yourself right to the bottom of the pool. Scouts also learned some basics about how to look after the scuba gear and how to stay safe while taking part, I think it'll be a while before anyone heads out into the cold sea having experienced diving in a nice warm pool! Photos are online in the photos zone. 3rd Washington Scouts (part of Houghton-Le-Spring Scout District) provides adventure for young people aged 6 to 14 in the North and West of Washington, Tyne and Wear. Two thriving beaver colonies, two cub packs and two scout troops make up over 200 members, comprising of over 160 young people and a leader team of 40 adults. |
