The undoubted highlight of the Autumn Activate programme has been the try dive scuba diving experience.

Scouts have been putting on their flippers, mask and breathing aparatus and learning the basics of diving at The Diving Centre, Boldon with expert instruction from their team.

The activity proved itself to be quite a challenge, as it takes some practice to be able to breathe under water, to feel confident below the surface and to be able to lower yourself right to the bottom of the pool.

Scouts also learned some basics about how to look after the scuba gear and how to stay safe while taking part, I think it'll be a while before anyone heads out into the cold sea having experienced diving in a nice warm pool!
