Congratulations to our teams of intrepid adventures who took part in this weekend's Maclaren competition locking out the top two places. The team lead by Adam with Harry, Matty, Ryon and Chris took the top spot followed closely by Alex's team with Steph, Helen and Lawrence. This is the first time in the group's that a team has brought home the prestigious trophy.

The Maclaren is a two adventure hike which tests leadership, teamwork and navigation as teams from around the district compete to win the shield. More details to follow, judges said that the enthusiasm of our teams and leadership made them the stand out teams of the event and after 15 challenging checkpoints and a possible 15,000 points, just 70 points separated the teams.

This year success hinged on finding hidden treasure at Ford Castle and challenges included rafting across the river where the bridge broken, an abseiling challenge and of course the usual navigation issues.

When asked how he would like to celebrate, Adam responded to say "we'd like a potato eating contest". We thought he'd gone mad, but apparently this is in homage to a navigation mistake which took the team directly across a field full of potatoes destined for Tescos (other supermarkets are available).
