Remembrance Day Parade 2009

Those who died for their country shall never be forgotten.

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 3rd Washington and around the district joined army, air and sea cadets, local councillors and the community of Washington to remember those who died in World War I, World War II and more recently the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

On a cold Sunday morning hundreds of local people turned out to join the parade down to the Cenotaph in Washington Village.

Wreaths were laid by representatives of the army, navy, air force, emergency services in remembrance of those lost in the wars and a two minutes silence was held as a mark of respect and a moment for all to reflect.
