There was huge excitement among the Sunderland fans within St Andrews Cubs as visited the Stadium of Light (the home of Sunderland Football Club) as part of the Our Sporting Adventure challenge.

We were met at the stadium entrance by our guide Gerard who looked after us for the evening, taking us behind the scenes of the club. Out on the terraces, we viewed the pitch from many angles including sitting in the press and commentators area, John Motson eat your heart out!

Next we were led down to the dressing rooms, all the kits of our Sunderlando heros were laid out ready for the next match, this was a stark comparison to the away dressing rooms which were tiny and drab. Gerard our guide told us this was meant to dampen the mood of the opposition before they came out to face Sunderland.

Next we visited the briefing room where Martin O’Neil holds his press conference and held a short press conference of our own. I'm not sure James would stand up to the scrutiny of the world's media yet. After the press conference, we headed up to the private boxes (very posh) and through to the players lounge where they celebrate success after each match.

After the comfort of the private boxes, it was back outdoors, this time to run down the tunnel onto the pitch with the match day music blasting in our ears. Definately the highligh, even the black and white supporters amongst enjoyed the atmosphere.
