Sometimes 3rd Washington are well ahead of the game as this weekend showed as Cubs enjoyed their own Olympics at West Hall a full year before the main 2012 event in London.

This of course was no ordinary Olympics and Cubs participated in less than traditional events including the egg and spoon race, sack racing and the crazy javelin. Split into 4 countries, Cubs not only competed for individual pride, but cheered each other on hoping their fictional nations would be victorious.

On Saturday evening, Cubs enjoyed a campfireand singsong, James introduced a new song and showed everyone how to Bungalow. Matthew, 8, said, "the campfire was a laugh, but I was really tired after we did 20 verses of the Bungalow Song!"

3rd Washington Cubs participate in a balance programme which aims to give young people opportunities to develop through a range of activities. Nights away are just one of the opportunities the Group provides. The weekend away was made possible by the organisation and planning of the leader team, with support gratefully received from Jeff and Ryan in the kitchen.
