Last week, Cubs from St Andrew's enjoyed a day of activities up at Kielder courtesy of the Calvert Trust including conquering a huge outdoor high ropes course and indoor climbing wall.

Pushing the limits was the order of the day as cubs tried their hand at a variety of activities. Cubs gave their best Tarzan call as they swung quickly through the air as they tackled the king swing, leaders joining in and proving that they love an adventure too.

Cubs tackled the indoor climbing wall with excitement and enthusiasm. Supporting each other and cheering each other on, they made it to the top. This wasn't the only activity to challenge those with a fear of heights, the outdoor high ropes course was just as scary as Cubs negotiated cargo nets, rope bridges and balance beams high above the ground.

The afternoon offered yet more fun, Cubs proved their aim with a game of laser clay pigeon shooting and we're reliably informed that Ronnie is a terrible shot! Cubs 1, Leaders 0.

After an action packed day, the bus was remarkably quiet on the return journey, Cubs fast asleep in the back. Ben, 8, said, "we had a great day, I was scared by the king swing, but as they let go and we swung out it was brilliant."

Our thanks to the Calvert Trust and Kevin Appleby for organising this event, if we get another chance, we'll be back next year.
