Last Saturday, Oxclose was packed with celebrities and movie stars as James Bond, Harry Potter, Mama Smurf and many other A-listers walked the red carpet to the Cubs Lights Camera Action event.

The event brought together Cubs from across the Houghton-Le-Spring district for a fun filled day of activities as is traditional for the district cub section in the run up to Christmas.
Bases included the Incredibles challenge and Fat Sam's Grand Slam.  At the incredibles challenge Cubs showed they would give Mr Incredible a run for his money when it comes to strength and speed.
Cubs enjoyed the cinema food on offer, making their own popcorn on a base and sampling Danni's delicious candyfloss. Throughout the day there were opportunities to get crafty, Cubs made mini chocolate Christmas puddings (very tasty), reindeer baubles and reindeer dust, all of which they got to take home.
The Cubs section is for young people aged 8-11 and our young people enjoy an active and balanced programme throughout the year. Click here to find out more.
