Cubs @ Oxclose: Get Fired Up

Did you know the 2 fire engines in washington fire station look after 80,000 people? That's what Cubs from Oxclose found out tonight as they visited Washington Fire Station.

First the cubs were introduced to the average day of a firefighter, showing them things like practicing a car crash and rescuing ponies from ditches (yes the fire & rescue service do rescue animals from unusual situations!)

The Pack then had a race to see whether they could get 'kitted' up in actual fire-proof gear quick enough to rescue someone, 30 seconds being the limit.

All cubs and leaders had a great time at the fire station! To see photos from the night, visit the photos zone. Our thanks go to the team from Washington Community Fire Station who gave up their time to show us what they get up to.
