Beavers enjoyed traditional Halloween games Tuesday saw 3rd Washington Beavers host their first Halloween themed night incorporating an eerie investiture. On arrival, Beavers were unrecognisable in their fangtastic costumes as they entered a dark hall with only lighted pumpkins to guide their path. Ear pitching screams and squeals only added to the atmosphere as beavers got underway with their first game of dead zombies. After unearthing flesh, beavers found ghoulish gifts on a scary pass the parcel.

On entering the gloomy graveyard, Beavers discovered a skeleton coffin, from which they had to bob for apples, which were later smothered in black treacle and decorated to form tasty toffee apples. Having had lots of sticky fun, it was taken in turns to pulverise the pumpkin piñata, which exploded into tiny pieces with beavers left to pick up the remains like hungry vampires.

The closing activity saw the Investiture ceremony and the welcoming of four new beavers into an ever increasing pack. After lots of fun and games, there was just time for the Monster Mash before our little terrors vanished into the night!

Beavers are the youngest section of the scout troop and Beaver Scouts are young people aged 6-8. Beaver scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, dressing up, going on visits and helping others.
