Parachute Games
This week, 3rd Washington Scouts opened the doors to a new Beaver Colony in the West of Washington. The Beaver Colony, the youngest section in the scouting family, opened with 12 young people on Tuesday 31st January 2012, a further 4 Beavers are expected to join next week. Through an active programme, our young people will have the chance to make friends, play games, go on visits and help others.

Making friends was top of the agenda on Tuesday night as Beavers enjoyed a night of games and getting-to-know-you activities. There's loads more to come during the first programme, leading up to a big launch night where Beavers will be invested.

The Group welcomes three new volunteers to run the section - Janet, Gemma and Nicola (or Rusty, Bubbles and TicTac as they will be known to Beavers). The names come from the book Friends of the Forest which is a book written specifically for Beavers.

Could you join us as a flexible volunteer? If you have a skill that you could teach our young people or have an hour to spare each week, then we'd love to have you on board. Contact one of the leader team or visit www.hls-scouts.org.uk/volunteer.
