Take 70 beavers scouts, some lively party games and lots of party food and you've got the Big Beaver Bash!

As beavers from 3rd Washington's two colonies arrived at Harraton Community Centre, there was a sense of excitement as they were thrown into a world of cartoons. Beavers were met by many cartoon characters including Woody from Toy Story, Batman and Scooby Doo to name but a few.

When the party kicked off, they all did what beavers do best, which was to ‘make friends and have lots of fun’. Of course a beaver party wouldn’t be a party without the infamous 'Gangnam Style' dance, which the beavers took no hesitation in showing off their moves to!

After a lot of dancing to cartoon classics the hungry beavers sat down to enjoy a well-deserved beaver snack, which proved to be more popular then Scooby Snacks! Full of energy and life again the beavers set out to play some toontastic games, these included pass the parcel, musical statues and wacky races.

As usual, photos are now online in our photos zone.

The Big Beaver Bash brought together beavers and adult volunteers from across Houghton-Le-Spring district and is part of the busy programme offered by 3rd Washington. Beaver scouts are the youngest section of the group and enjoy going on visits, having fun and making friends.
