Beaver Scout at Magic ShowThere was illusion aplenty tonight as beavers, cubs and scouts enjoyed a mystical night at South Shields Customs House for the South Tyneside International Magic Festival. 64 young people and adults from all sections attended a fantastic night of entertainment.
There was some really cool magic on display and two of our young people even ended up on stage taking part in a trick. The first magician on stage had them both up to do a trick which involved magically transporting a hankerchief across the stage (after Caitlin had packed it into a sock and kept tight a hold. Despite having tight ahold of it, neither scout could work out how it was done.
Some of the illusions on display defied belief, Graeme Shaw from Magic box showed us that he can defy gravity as his assistant was left suspended in what seemed like a impossible position as you can see from the picture above. To top it off, he then invited a member of the audience to run a hoop over his assistant to show that there were no wires attached.
The show ended with High Jinx who performed an amazing and mind boggling set which saw Michael Jordan make his assistant Tamsin disappear and reappear. The highlight of their set saw Michael putting Tamsin into a box before he sliced through the box with metal blades. It was an incredible set which left the whole audience amazed (and in case you're wondering, Tamsin reappeared in one piece to huge applause).
