Uniform and Equipment Exchange

Exchange and Support

At 3rd Washington, we pride ourselves in making scouting as inclusive and accessible as possible. To support this aim, our trustees manage a swap-shop to exchange unwanted uniform and equipment items. Items are available for a small donation to our group funds and are available to beavers, cubs, scouts, explorer scouts and adult volunteers. We call the whole thing upcycling! The scheme is managed by one of our parent trustees, Alison Nicholson.

To Donate Clothing and Equipment

We currently accept the following uniform items:

  • Beaver or cub jumpers

  • Scout or explorer scout shirts and blouses

  • Uniform activity trousers

  • Neckers and woggles

We also accept some activity clothing and equipment:

  • Rucsacs and day bags

  • Sleeping bags

  • i-SCOUT clothing

  • Walking boots

  • Waterproof coats and trousers

Unwanted items should be passed via a section leader to Alison Nicholson who will check and refresh them ready for a new owner.
